The EU did not like the transfer of Ariston and BSH Hausgerate assets to Gazprom

Brussels called on Moscow to reconsider the decision to temporarily transfer to the management of Gazprom Household Systems JSC the assets of the Russian subsidiaries of the German company BSH Hausgerate and the Italian Ariston. The Foreign Policy Service of the European Union issued a corresponding statement.

The European Union calls on Russia to cancel these measures and find acceptable solutions together with these European companies ,” the document says.

The most famous brands in Russia of the German concern BSH Hausgerate GmbH are Bosch and Siemens. Ariston, owned by the Indesit Company concern, sells large household appliances. Gazprom Household Systems is a subsidiary of Gazprom that produces household gas and electric stoves. It received temporary management of its subsidiaries Ariston and BSH Hausgerate by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Moscow previously threatened to “mirror” Washington’s decision to withdraw Russian money frozen in the United States. Thus, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin promised to take symmetrical measures , hinting at retaliatory confiscation of Western assets frozen in Russia. The Kremlin promised to challenge Washington's decision in international courts.

The US House of Representatives, at an extraordinary session, passed a bill on the confiscation of Russian assets in favor of Ukraine. We are talking about $5 billion, said First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense Alexey Zhuravlev.
